In baseball, you have 3 chances before you strike out at bat. In football, you have 4 downs before the opposing team gets possession of the football. Even in my English class I get an extra chance to fix my mistakes before they are graded for accuracy. The new immigration policy doesn’t allow legal immigrants to fix their mistakes. Messing up what seems to be small things on documents to become a citizen causes them to lose their money and deported. Some spend years to come up with the money to try to get a green card (which roughly costs $1760). Before this policy came out on September 11th, 2018, they were given an extra chance to fix their mistakes while be given more documents. I strongly believe that everyone deserves a fair chance in everything. If they are actually trying to become a citizen, why would you keep them from that? Some are running from the worst times of their lives and trying to make a better life for themselves. I believe the policy should be like it was before where they would get an extra chance, but also have to deal with the consequences of getting more documents
